The kickoff event for Queers United, a new socio-political, and social group in Central New York, sponsored by Diversity Rules Magazine and The Belvedere Cabaret will be held on Friday, September 21st from 5-8 p.m.! The Cabaret is located at 41 Genesee Street, Greene, New York. The telephone number is 607-235-0747.
Vincent Majka, the owner of The Belvedere Cabaret, has graciously offered use of the venue and will provide the “eats” for the event.
It is the intent of Queers United to create a welcoming environment for the Central NY queer community, to socialize and more importantly, to advance the cause of equality. Come join us and meet some new folks, and if it is your desire, become more politically active in facilitating awareness of what it means to be queer and proud, and to celebrate our individuality.
The first event will be held in a delightful venue in Greene, NY. Light refreshments will be served, beer and wine and some non-alcoholic beverages will be provided too! Entertainment will be provided as well — to be announced at a later date (if you want to be the entertainment for the event, contact Jim Koury using the information below).
Other venues will be investigated for future happy hour events that are queer friendly and open to helping further the cause of equality. I would like to also work in partnership with other queer, and pro-equality groups in a collaborative relationship to further strengthen our community and help promote each group’s mission.
Also, bring your ideas and thoughts about what you’d like to see Queers United do and what types of activities to take part in.
If you have any questions, contact Jim Koury at 435.1587 or by e-mail at [email protected].
Hope to see you on September 21st. Go to the following event page and let us know if you are coming!
