New Films Cinema’s dramatic new release, Ashley, a film that hits on the extremely important topic of anti-bullying and homosexuality, and which stars Nicole Fox (2009 Winner of America’s Next Top Model), Jennifer Taylor (Two and a Half Men), Nicole Buehrer (Cougar Town), Tom Malloy (The Alphabet Killer) and Michael Madsen (Sin City, Kill Bill) will make its U.S. domestic debut on August 9th, 2013 in 15 U.S. cities Theatrically and in 100 million VOD homes with cable, satellite and telco, and online VOD operators including, Apple iTunes, Amazon, Cablevision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation, Time Warner, Verizon FiOS, and Vudu.
Nesim Hason’s New Films International will distribute Ashley worldwide. The film is directed by Dean Matthew Ronalds (Here & Now), and is produced by Tom Malloy (The Alphabet Killer, Love N’ Dancing) and Brian Ronalds (Here & Now, The Graves). Written by Domenic Migliore, Ashley introduces troubled Ashley Collins (NICOLE FOX), a teenager who resorts to cutting herself in order to escape a life dominated by her emotionally abusive mother (JENNIFER TAYLOR), her predatory step-father (MICHAEL MADSEN) and the bullies at school who ridicule her sexuality. With the guidance of her therapist Vincent (TOM MALLOY), Ashley gains the courage to push beyond the boundaries of her suburban prison, eventually finding romance with Candice (NICOLE BUEHRER) who allows her to experience true intimacy for the first time and to confidently embrace her emerging sexual identity.
