Shame-less, the debut album from drag superstar turned pop provocateur Oceane Aqua-Black, is out now on So Fierce Music. It is already making history. At 83 minutes and 27 seconds, the 23-track project officially becomes the longest album ever released by a drag performer. It surpasses the previous world record held by Ginger Minj. A Deluxe CD Edition, available exclusively through So Fierce Music, expands the experience to a staggering 31 tracks. It runs for two hours and comes complete with never-before-heard songs, photos, and lyrics.
“This is so exciting!” says Oceane. “Every song has been carefully crafted over the past two years. It wasn’t just about breaking a new record. It was about delivering true quality and dedication.”
Inspiration From Life Experience
A daring blend of pop, dance, hip hop, rock, electro, and tribal sounds, Shame-less captures Oceane’s kaleidoscopic artistry and infectious humor. “My inspiration comes from my life experience with a dash of humor,” she explains. The album’s bold spirit shines through in explicit, witty tracks like “College Bois” and “Creampie. “I’m not afraid to ‘go there.’ The album is unapologetically me, and I’m shameless about it.”
“It’s not all dirty, though,” she clarifies. “There are songs about mental health, online bullying, body positivity, and fearless self-expression.”
The truth is, Shame-less is more than an album, it’s an empowerment manifesto wrapped in glitter, grit, and bass. One of the standout moments comes with the powerhouse anthem “F.A.B. (Fake Ass B*tch)”, which unites an all-star lineup of RuPaul’s Drag Race royalty: Ra’Jah O’Hara, Kween Kong, and Silky Nutmeg Ganache. “I wanted to create a song that brought together some of the fiercest and most beloved Black queens from the Drag Race franchise. These are queens I’m proud to call my sisters,” says Oceane.
Shame-less Is An Empowerment Manifesto
In addition to its star-studded collaborations, Shame-less features appearances by Emoji Nightmare, Halcyon Gray, Helena Poison (Canada’s Drag Race Season 5), Vanity Milan, Lady Boom Boom (Canada’s Drag Race Season 3), and the legendary TS Madison.
Shame-Less was partially funded by the “You Do You Foundation’s Mentorship Program,” supported by TD Ready Commitment. Sonically and spiritually, it bridges the bold worlds of drag, hip hop, and club culture. “Drag is about breaking down barriers and speaking our truth,” says Oceane. “It’s about standing up for what we believe in and fighting for it.”
When asked what being shame-less means to her, Oceane doesn’t hesitate: “It means being okay with who you are. Wholeheartedly accepting your physical, emotional, and personal self and understanding that you will never be liked by everyone, so pay them no mind. You simply do you!”
