Welcome to the December “Raven’s Porn Corner.” This month I chat with the always amazing Charlie Harding. Charlie has worked with studios such as Men.com.
RE: We know about your adult entertainment work but, you have so much more going on tell us about some of your other projects outside of adult entertainment.
CH: Well let’s see, I shoot porn, in front of the camera that is, I throw events around the country with my “Charlie Harding presents…” Events company, I write for www.Manhattandigest.com, I host and emcee two parties called HARDBODIES and CHARLIE’S ANGELS each week at Blake’s on the Park in Atlanta, I have a clothing line at www.RageTs.com and I have an erotica book line at www.CharlieHardingpresents.com.
RE: You have been very open about being HIV- and in a relationship with your partner who is HIV+. What impact has this had on your professional life? Have you run into any HIV stigma within the adult industry?
CH: HIV is the dirty little secret of the porn industry. There are tons of performers who are positive, but don’t disclose status publicly.
I’ve worked with many, I will continue to work with them. To me someone’s HIV status is just something to be aware of, not something to be scared of.
I don’t know for a fact that I’ve lost work because of my partner status, but I figure we’re in a position to be well models and open about it and hopefully make people less scared of a positive status.
RE: What are some of your goals for 2014 both in your professional and personal life? Will we be seeing any major Charlie Harding releases (I will let you interpret that however you want) in the near future?
CH: Get ready on the men.com there will be a couple big fun things showing up there soon. And I have a couple more surprises I’ll be filming the next few months.
I am going to do a few things that can be controversial, and hopefully thought-provoking. We’re also going to expand our clothing line, I should have my own gay erotica fiction publications out soon and a bunch of other fun stuff.
RE: You won the 2013 Raven’s Eden Award for “Best Newcomer.” The Raven’s Eden awards are based on fan votes. This is your chance what would you like to say to your fans that voted for you?
CH: I would say thank you very, very, very, very much! I do porn to make people happy. Evidently I’m succeeding, when I have such great folks willing to celebrate me with an award!
